The Lagos state government realizing the dearth of good and up-to-date laboratory in Lagos and the country at large, which has become the bane of its healthcare, established the one-stop health and diagnostic centre.

The BT Health and Diagnostic Centre (BTHDC) commissioned on Tuesday 6th January, 2009 and opened for services to the public on the 1st of June, 2009, is a state-of-the-art health screening and diagnostic facility. The concept was informed by the need to build a centre that is fully automated and offer unique services of health screening with the latest sophisticated laboratory and radiological services all in one building in LASUTH.

Deux Project Limited has managed this centre from the beginning and has been able to position it to be the best diagnostic centre in Lagos, in terms of accuracy of diagnosis, customer service excellence and efficiency, as well as aesthetics and construction. The introduction of private management features in this public service entity has engendered equity and efficiency in one package. Three years after commissioning of the centre, there is remarkable success story and testimonials by the increasing list of patrons.

The centre is a storey building with radiological imaging facilities on the ground floor and health screening facilities on the first floor. Most of the equipment are digital and radiological images acquired make results available for consultation on-hand as well as in digital form allowing for remote consultation with other experts in other countries while the patient is in the centre, in order to obtain second opinion. The centre is proud of its dedicated Patient Care Team of medical specialists, highly trained nurses, clinical and non-clinical support staff whose aim is to deliver the best possible patient/client care in an atmosphere of excellence. A facility maintenance support staff made up of Engineers , Biomedical specialists , Technicians , cleaners etc ensure all round facility maintenance including equipments and furniture.

The health screening department makes available to the public a wide range of diagnostic equipments for world class comprehensive health care screens (medical check-up). On offer are a wide range of packages and each package is designed for individual's specific health needs while giving room for flexibility. Specific tests and separates like Cancer screening ( PAP Smear for Cervical Cancer and PSA for Prostate Cancer), ECG, Audiology, Vision screening, Lung function test and a lot more are available as well as pre-employment and wellness screenings.

The Integrated Laboratories are in place with different work areas including Clinical chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunoassay, Haematology and Microbiology- equipped with the latest, state of the machines, each an expression of cutting edge technology. A wide range of pathological tests in anaemia, cardiology, diabetes/endocrinology, bone, renal, infectious diseases, serology/ immunology and tumour markers are available with small scale and automated options.

The Radiology unit of the centre is a world of exploring human images from different modalities. The unit houses state of the art Ultrasound scanner, Real time X-ray imaging system, Mammography, Computed Tomography scanner ( CT Scan) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging ( MRI). The centre has seen over 5,000 patients from it's inception.
